Biodiesel is a biogenic fuel produced primarily from vegetable oils or recycled fats. In Austria, biodiesel is mainly produced from rapeseed oil and is used to reduce CO₂ emissions from road traffic. Depending on the application, biodiesel is used either as a pure fuel or as a blend with conventional diesel. Modern diesel fuels generally already contain a biogenic component in accordance with European standards. Biodiesel meets high quality standards under EN 14214 and makes an important contribution to sustainable mobility and to achieving Austria’s climate goals.
AdBlue is a high-purity urea solution used for exhaust aftertreatment in modern diesel vehicles equipped with SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) technology. Injecting AdBlue® converts harmful nitrogen oxides (NOx) in the exhaust system into harmless nitrogen and water vapor. AdBlue® is not a fuel additive and is filled into a separate tank. AdBlue® is now indispensable, particularly for commercial vehicles, modern passenger cars, and agricultural machinery, to comply with current European emissions standards. To ensure safe operation, it is crucial to use a product that meets the quality standards specified in ISO 22241.
HVO diesel (hydrotreated vegetable oil) is an innovative paraffinic diesel fuel made from renewable raw materials such as vegetable oils, waste materials, or used fats. Unlike conventional biodiesel, HVO is produced through hydrogenation and is characterized by particularly clean combustion, high storage stability, and excellent cold-weather performance. HVO can significantly reduce CO₂ emissions compared to fossil diesel and is suitable—depending on the manufacturer’s approval—for many modern diesel engines. The fuel complies with the European standard EN 15940 and is also gaining increasing importance in Austria as a sustainable alternative for heavy-duty transport and fleet operations.
Premium Diesel B0 is a high-quality diesel fuel without any bio-based additives (FAME-free). Because it contains no biodiesel, B0 diesel offers exceptionally high storage stability and is ideal for vehicles, machinery, emergency generators, and seasonally used equipment. Premium Diesel B0 delivers clean combustion, excellent cold-weather performance, and optimal protection for modern fuel injection systems. B0 diesel is particularly valued for its quality and operational reliability in demanding applications in agriculture, transportation, and industry.
E10 gasoline is a modern gasoline fuel containing up to 10% bioethanol. The bioethanol blended into it is derived from renewable raw materials and helps reduce fossil CO₂ emissions. E10 complies with the European standard EN 228 and is suitable for most gasoline-powered vehicles in Austria. Using E10 can make a significant contribution to reducing greenhouse gas emissions from road traffic—without compromising performance or everyday usability for approved vehicles.
Diesel B7 is the standard diesel fuel in Austria and contains up to 7% biodiesel (FAME). The fuel meets the European standard EN 590 and is suitable for nearly all modern diesel vehicles. The addition of biogenic components conserves fossil resources and reduces CO₂ emissions. Diesel B7 offers reliable performance, high supply security, and optimal operating characteristics—whether in everyday road traffic or in agriculture, transportation, and commercial applications.
